What info to link to when finding a new school!

Finding the right schools can be a small research task. However, this task has been made easier for you to do! Below you will find informational links about the City of Bexley School District in Bexley, Ohio.

Once you have taken a look at the linked information, simply search for the same type of data in the school district of your choice and compare.

Bexley Schools:

Bexley’s Five Star status is shared locally with Columbus’s suburbs of the Worthington and New Albany school districts. Nationally, Bexley’s School District has been ranked in the top 250 best schools in the nation and in the top 10 in Ohio, according to Newsweek’s, “America’s Best High Schools-The List.”

Bexley’s status and rank is due to Bexley’s own blend of volunteers, dedicated board members, professional staff, actively involved parents, teachers and students. Bexley’s continual professional training, educational best practices, state of the art computer systems and Smart Boards in classrooms round out this class act!

Sweetening Bexley’s successful blend has been the, Bexley Education Foundation’s fund raising efforts.

Just how sweet is the (B.E.F.) to Bexley Public Schools? Well, BEF’s website says the “Bexley Education Foundation has awarded more than $1.2 million in classroom and impact grants; an average value of more than $100 per student per year (BEF, 2011).”

The Bexley Parks and Recreation Organization provides Bexley’s area residents with Jeffrey Mansion’s preschool programs. Bexley Parks and Recreation offers an abundant schedule of cultural, sports, fitness, family activities as well.

Bexley’s Scool district accreditation status, as combined with its educational ‘best practices,’ are key factors in Bexley’s recognition locally and nationally.

The Bexley schools, ‘best practices’ begin at the Cassingham, Maryland and Montrose Elementary Schools.

Cassingham Elementary School has adopted the International Baccalaureate Primary

Years Program as the first IB Primary Years program in the State of Ohio.

Maryland Elementary School adopted the “Effective Schools Model.”

Montrose Elementary School adopted the “Literacy Collaborative Practice.”

Bexley Middle School has adopted the “International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program.”

Bexley’s High School has adopted the “Advanced Placement” (AP) and “Pre-Advancement” placement programs.

Personally, as new residents to Bexley, my wife, “Sandy,” my daughter, "Sarah," who is in first grade, are positively pleased with living in Bexley; its quaint neighborhood streets, friendly people, roaring Bexley's Lion sports, outdoor recreation, local culture, and, of course, a stellar educational experience for all of our children!

Moving to Bexley has been one warm reception after another. The other day, the Montrose Elementary School, P.T.O. folks dropped off a welcome package of neat treats, info and school supplies for Sarah. Thank you very much, Montrose Elementary PTO!

The good grade report goes on with the Ohio Departments of Education (ODOE) report card showing Bexley Schools graduation rate to be 99.5% meeting all 26 of 26 state indicators; with a performance rating of 104.8 of 120 points possible.

Today, Dr. Michael L. Johnson, as the district's “Super” (Superintendent), continues to conduct the Bexley Schools District’s business, resulting in cool college matriculation rates of 96 to 98%. Bexley Grad students typically accept admission to colleges like, The Ohio State University, Harvard, Duke, Denison University, Case Western Reserve, Northwestern University, Carnegie Mellon, and Yale.

This story contains informational links to school location, Newsweek Magazine's ranking web page, local school board member data, community recreation centers, local chamber of commerce data, educational best practices, school technology, school funding, positive reactions from local parents, the State Department of Education's reports card, the superintentdent background, college matriculation rates, with the types of colleges students are able to attract as Bexley Highschool graduates. These are all good subjects to research before making your next blended family move to a new area and school.

Best of luck!

Who Moved my Cheese, Wallet and Keys?

Bexley Blended Families Examiner.com

By: Douglas Huff

We have all been guilty of coming home to place our lose change, keys, phones and wallets on the proverbial catch all counter, junk drawer or in some bottomless basket. Which is okay, if no one moves the basket or takes the keys.

However, someone always seem to moves your cheese, wallet and those blasted car keys. Eventually, you find yourself asking anyone who will listen, “Did you see my keys anywhere?” or "Where my wallet!"

Then, like clock work your brothers, sisters or parents begin to shout out, "Have you seen my hair brushes, any matching socks, the dog leash, flash light, my Ipod, television remote, batteries, backpack and or even the toothpicks!"

Does it seem like you have lost your mind? Well, you have due to underlying emotional stress which can cause us all to forget what we just said or did with our stuff!

Naturally, you ask "Who took my stuff?" The feel good answer is, "They Did!" The right answer is, "The whole familiy did and they do it everyday!" Sound familiar?

Many blended families struggle with the daily search mission in hopes to secure some sanity by finding their stuff!

Have you noticed while frantically searching around the house; everyone else chimes in with, “Well, where did you last leave it?” or “Just retrace your steps; you will find it!” and it seems we never do!

Does this broken record lost and found scene ring any bells? Don't be blue...

Here's the good news. You may not be ADD, a hoarder, forgetful or even senile; our blended familiy housholds are just plain disorganized with too much misplaced, cotton-picking stuff!

We all need to take a serious stance with our stuff as stuff we want or stuff we need.

The stuff we want, are things like another new car, more clothes, more electronics, more homes, more, more, more!

The stuff we need is love, humility, forgivness, happiness, some clothes, some food, a shelter, shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toilet paper, and a broom.

Our family at one time just called it, "Huff-Stuff!"

In short, we should learn that stuffing more stuff in our lives only takes away from enjoying quality family time.

So, it’s time for the family to gain back their positive peace of mind!

Just follow these tried and true organizational do’s and do remember to do them everyday!

Do blame yourself for the mess and leave out everyone else! Take ownership, action & others will follow.

Do a household storage & use review. Take measurments of unused storage space.

Do optimize all rooms for daily use by installing inexpensive coat hooks, extra closet rods, and shelving as needed.

Do establish fixed locations for for all household daily use items! Line everyone up and show them where everything is and where it goes! No excuses!

Do establish long, short term storage plans by the season.

Do make three piles of stuff: Sell, Give, or Trash it! Then do it!

Do re-purpose an old cabinent or piece of furniture to make better use of cluttered space!

Do invest in inexpensive closet, storage systems and space bags from your profitable online or garage sales.

Lastly, please keep doing the do’s daily and you will never ask again, "Who moved my Cheese, Wallet and Keys!"

Reflections of Religion

Reflections of Relgion by Doug Huff
-------------------------------------------

God arrived before faith

Faith needed a believing people

Humble subjects to a God's Grace

Not all worshipped in Churches with steeples

--------------------------------------------

They all seek to see God's own face

Revealed is his image is goodness; joyful bliss

A reflection of much that is so dear

Our human race born by God's work in Genisis

----------------------------------------------

Ohh do they differ upon the most true God

They differ upon what is rightous

Who made the sacrifice and who offerer salvation

Who goes to heaven and hell?

---------------------------------------------------

Some follow rules, rituals and good deeds

Other simply by faith; believe

Some claim to be Saints

Others are truly servants as created to be

--------------------------------------------------------

All faiths believe in an ending for a person or a people or world

Most faiths believe in a good or bad deeds

Some believe salvation is required to obtain atonement for sins

Many claim to speak to God; while few are called to Speak God's word

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our modern day still has all the same worldy sins

People simply find a place to sing a private hymn

Some shout, sing and dance to a choir of their kin

God's light is bright and lives within

-----------------------------------------------------------

One truth is certain; all souls have sin;

No need for escape for those who recieved God's grace

Hey, they 've found their eternal heaven by faith!

Hope is avaible to all with a free gift of sacrifice by the way of agape love

A poem by Douglas Huff

Islam, Islam, Islam

------------------------------------

Founded by Muhammad

Sunni or Shiite you must be

Famous book by Allah

Qu' ran is read so they may see

---------------------------------

So much distrust

Not because of faith

Only due to mankind's political lusts

Hope all get along for Jesus's sake

----------------------------------------

Jesus a prophet not a God to trust

He did not die

was not crucified

Passed Go - straight to heaven

---------------------------------------

Salvation is earned by good deeds

Not by Faith you see

Some are demons with evil means

Some are angels to make you believe

---------------------------------------

No such thing

As original Sin

No holy Trinity

Just One God and Creator to infinity

Life as A Christian

Lost Souls we are when we arrive

Babies we have been born

We depend upon other for life

Ahead we face much goodness; much strife

-------------------------------

God knew us in the womb

Christ gave his life so;

Their would be no doom

Crucified by stripes

--------------------------------

He died on the cross

So we would have heavenly gain

Without eternal loss

God the father our boss

-----------------------------------------

He rose on that third day

Not to found cross bound

Not found in the ground

He was missing to his followers dismay

-----------------------------------------

Remember Jesus died on Holy Ground

By God's Grace we would soon see his face

He went to be with God the father

In the holy o' holies; a righteous place

-----------------------------------------------

He appeared in Jerusalem again

Not all was finished

He had to have one last supper

Followers were in his holy spirit

------------------------------------------

He said,"I have sent you a comforter."

I go to be with my father now.

Be faithful to God the father

I am his son Christ who died your sins

______________________________

To you He is me and I am him

Once day we will all be reunited again

Look to the east for that trumpet to sound

We will be caught up where love abounds

Dear Huff's World View Reader,

I have chosen create a blog format to express my thoughts in the form of poetry each week. The purpose of this blog is to reflect my thoughts and perceptions of various religous topics as I am a student working through a college course named, "World Religions."

I chose the literary method of poetry to express my thoughts of different religions so that we may relfect upon the belief systems of other people not just my own being Christianity.

I believe when the process of writing these poems of religion concludes; I will have become a more self aware, knowledgable and respectful Christian of other people's world view and religious preferences.

Sincerely,

Doug Huff
Student of World Religions
